Reflecting the truely global nature of the UK's economy Ice Magic have been involved in what's recently been reported as Londons "Ramadan rush". Supplying a Synthetic Ice Rink that features in Harrods recent online Christmas promotions. But why so early in the year? well it seems many tourists from the Middle East had asked to buy Christmas decorations before going home for the Muslim month of fasting, starting on Monday. Despite Christmas is not being officially celebrated by Muslims, many decorate their homes.
Harrods built an their ice rink on it's roof, eight floors above Knightsbridge, to film an internet video marking the launch of its Christmas World department. The rink measures 11x13 metres, is only 18mm thick and made from plastic injected with silicon. The Ice Magic team had a great time installing an Ice Rink for this rather special client. The online advertsing campaign features none other than Mr Christmas himself and a rather bemused security guard.
