An Ice Magic® Synthetic Ice ice rinks require no power at all, other than the energy you exert when you skate Ice Magic® synthetic ice is the most responsible way forward for those who care about the environment and yet have a passion for ice skating and ice related activity.
Un like real outdoor ice rinks a synthetic ice rink doesn't require a huge amount of energy to create the ice and involving the need for generators and chiller units resulting in large levels of carbon emissions, excessive water consumption, and requiring plumbing and re-surfacing at regular intervals. After all of this and taking into account the effects of global warming, there is still no guarantee that operators of real outdoor ice rinks are in fact able to freeze the ice.

PRO-SKATING STANDARD ICE PANELSThese are the traditionally accepted 'ice' panels that have to date secured in excess of £6 million in sales for our company and supplied to clients worldwide. They offer dual purpose usage as when they are dry, you are able to use the surface for any activity that requires either rubber soled footwear (five a side football, basketball, etc) or rubber wheel equipment (in line roller skating, skateboarding, etc). However and when sprayed with a glide enhancing liquid (Glycol), they offer a superb skating experience, our most recent sale of this product being to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics.
Our Pro-Skating panels requires minimum maintenance and falling in to two main tasks, these being the cleaning of the surface and the application of the product, Glycol. Using a wet/dry scrubbing machine with water and detergent, the surface should be cleaned once per day (either prior to use or at the conclusion of the days skating). You then require to spray the surface with a fine coating of glycol (diluted 1 part Glycol to 3 parts water) approx 4 - 5 times during the day. This can be achieved by your rink staff on skates or in their normal footwear using back pack spray applicators, therefore there is no requirement to clear the rink of skaters during the task. The glycol is non toxic, environmentally friendly and very inexpensive.
PERMANENT GLIDE ICE PANELS
(PERMA-GLIDE©)
Following a considerable amount of money and resources having been spent on research and development, we are delighted to inform you that Ice Magic International Ltd is now able to offer a revolutionary new ice skating panel that has been injected with silicone at the time of manufacture, thus making it permanently slippery and therefore taking away the requirement for the ice rink to be sprayed with glycol at regular intervals throughout the day. This does however mean that the Perma-Glide ice panels are only suitable for ice skating or similar activity such as ice hockey.
As our new product does not require the application of glycol, this not only provides a tremendous cost saving on the purchase of glycol liquid but also of course saves a great deal on man hours in carrying out this task. This product in unique to Ice Magic® and represents a leap forward for the synthetic ice market place. More importantly and following extensive trials, the feedback from skaters is that it is the closest skating experience to real ice that you can imagine. Once again as with the standard ice panels, the Perma-Glide surface should be cleaned once per day (either prior to use or at the conclusion of the days skating).
